Since I run a WordPress site that posts 30-40 deals per day, I wanted my dashboard to show more than 15. I wanted 100. That way I could schedule and see what would be posting for an entire weekend. If you want more too you can do the following:

  1. Go to wp-admin/includes/post.php
  2. Find – wp(”post_type=post&what_to_show=posts$post_status_q&posts_per_page=15&order=$order&orderby=$orderby”);
  3. Then change posts_per_page=15 to posts_per_page=100 – or whatever number you want.

You will have to fix this every time there is an update since you are updating core files. If you don’t want to alter core files, you can do this:

Code this in your template using query_posts (source:

// Get the last 10 posts in the special_cat category.
<?php query_posts('category_name=special_cat&showposts=10'); ?>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
<!-- Do special_cat stuff... -->
<?php endwhile;?>

Or using WP_query:

As always – don’t try this if you don’t know what you are doing. You can SERIOUSLY screw up your site.
